Southeast Idaho SHRM
An affiliated SHRM chapter since March 19, 1969
The Mission Statement of SEI SHRM reads: As the premier HR organization in Southeast Idaho, we are committed to advancing the capabilities of our HR professionals. We provide value to our members by offering developmental opportunities and a common forum to network, share ideas, and experiences that promote the learning process.
Members receive a significant discount on our lunches and conferences, access to the "members only" section, and a few other perks like our December give back. The Southeast Idaho Chapter of SHRM has many volunteer opportunities. If you are interested, you can volunteer to serve on the Board of Directors for SEI SHRM by dropping us a note and letting us know. If you aren’t a member of SEI SHRM, you can join here.
The Idaho SHRM chapter along with the HR Association of Greater High Point is hosting a SHRM & HRCI accredited, experiential workshop to learn about unconscious bias for our September meeting!
You will earn 1.5 SHRM & HRCI credits. This workshop was developed to help people understand how their brains work around bias and to provide them with tools to reduce the impact of bias on the choices they make in the workplace.
Workshop Learning Objectives
Decision-making research demonstrates that individuals who are highly aware of their decision-making process can see how unconscious bias influences their thinking. This awareness opens their mind to a broader set of choices and improves their ability to reach their intended outcomes.
In this experiential workshop, Lorne will help you uncover your unconscious biases. You will come to understand the unconscious influences that are limiting the scope of your decision making. You will learn and practice techniques designed to reduce bias and help you make better choices.
To register, please go HERE. The cost for the workshop is $9.99 and will be paid directly to Lorne. To ensure your seat, please register by September 16th.
We would also appreciate it if you could also RSVP on our website so that we can see who from our chapter attended!
