Senior Human Resource Leader
The leader will work on-site at a plant location as a key member of the management team. This plant location is a union environment with approximately 200+ employees. This employer needs an HR professional at a senior level to work onsite with the HR team and plant management executing and implementing the key initiatives.
Job Summary
The Senior Human Resource Leader will direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including recruitment, retention, training, compensation & benefits, and continuous improvement to support the company goals and initiatives with regard to talent.
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, hire, and train
- Oversee the daily workflow
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Lead functional area of the company for successful business growth
Duties/Responsibilities
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning
- Provides support and guidance to plant human resources team, plant management, and other staff
- May be required to administer and execute tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations
- Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Supports the organizations compensation and benefits efforts including research, analyze, and provide recommendations to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
- Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees
- Oversees various programs at the plant to include health and safety
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Required Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field required
- At least 15-20 years of related experience required
- Manufacturing environment experience
- Union experience in a plant and/or manufacturing setting
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired
- Experience working with union environments
- Master’s Degree is a plus but not required
