Docutech’s knowledge and solutions empower lending professionals to efficiently produce accurate loan packages in all 50 states to ensure compliance with constantly changing laws and regulations. 

Who We Are Looking For

As the Human Resources Leader, you will help steward all people operations and cultural elements to ensure the core tenets of the company are being met. You will play a highly strategic role working closely with the Management Team to build a world-class team with effective, scalable systems and processes that reinforce these tenets through action (and merit). You will lead, organize, and direct all aspects of the Culture, Recruiting & Talents, MBO Incentive/Performance Management Programs and Human Resource functions.

How You Can Help Us Grow

Recruiting Leadership.

  • Build, lead, and mentor a resourceful, proactive, and solution-oriented recruiting team. Create the recruiting budget and manage costs. Define recruitment-related projects, do the recruiting or assign to contractors.
  • Sourcing strategy. Determine proper mix of sourcing modalities to ensure cost effective and creative recruitment of quality candidates (e.g. internet, social media, contingency firms, retained firms, referrals, media, professional associations, university relationships, etc.).
  • Campus recruiting. Manage internship and campus-recruiting programs to ensure the company is attracting the best university talent. Manage all local recruiting, including job fairs.
  • Processes. Optimize recruiting processes and interview structures to create a thoughtful candidate experience in the most efficient / effective manner possible.

Collaborate with hiring managers to create and execute recruiting strategies that cater to the varied needs while adhering to best practices. Manage the new hire offer process and ensure compensation packages are competitive with market standards. Employment branding. Work with Marketing to manage the BirchStreet employer brand including all internal (websites, careers page) and external (LinkedIn, Glassdoor, The Muse, etc.) facing resources.

Diversity. Incorporate Docutech values into the recruitment process, focusing on the identification, selection, and retention of a diverse workforce. Partner with the business. Drive talent resource forecasting and succession planning to ensure proactive candidate pipeline development across all teams.

Applicant Tracking Systems. Manage an effective ATS. Define, track, and analyze weekly recruiting metrics and develop practical tracking and reporting methods to monitor and improve performance.

Reporting. Create dashboards to monitor and communicate recruiting goals against target, and guide the team to execute against shifting organizational priorities.

Leadership. Create, communicate, execute, and manage the department budget. Develop alignment between company values and HR practices.

Employee onboarding. Partner with IT, Administrative Staff, and Finance peers in all aspects of the candidate and new hire experience to ensure a smooth and efficient onboarding process.

Compensation / benefits. Create, manage and administer the benefits offering staying on top of recent trends and ensuring Docutech balances budget requirements with employees needs to remain competitive with the industry’s top companies.

Payroll. Manage all payroll entry as it relates to onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration and general employee maintenance.  Act as back-up to Accounting team for payroll processing.

Retention and rewards. Ensure optimal levels of talent retention by developing processes to identify key talent and programs designed to make Docutech an attractive place of employment. Includes MBO-based compensation plans and processes and employee career roadmapping with their managers.

Workforce planning. Lead the continuous creation and execution of effective staff planning, including creating practices that attract and secure high-caliber talent.

Policies and processes. Develop, implement, and consistently administer employee policies that comply with applicable law and advance objectives in the jurisdictions where Docutech has offices or operations.

Develop and manage the employee handbook and ensure that company-wide practices align with company culture.

Training and development. Implement training programs and tools to (1) assist managers to supervise and motivate their direct reports and (2) help employees grow their skill sets, and continuously improve their performance.

Performance Management. Ensure that appropriate performance management philosophies, programs, and practices are implemented and executed in support of a culture that values accountability and high performance.

Compliance. Work with Legal to ensure that policies and practices comply with all applicable laws, employees are trained and the warranties that we provide our customs are upheld to the highest standard.  When necessary, investigate and direct Docutech responses to workplace complaints. Create policies and understand risks for employee separation, including such aspects as consulting counsel, severance payments, protected classes, and Docutech policy on references.

Evaluate Docutech's strategy and execution through a cultural lens.

Ensure team members are excited to go to work every day, ready to produce results and make a positive difference.

Develop programs designed to enhance and reinforce employee morale and productivity and recognize employees for their contributions to the company’s success.

Evaluate how competitors and industry are building strong cultures.

Architect, codify, and continue to improve the team member journey from recruiting to onboarding to thriving at Docutech. Ensure that teams are greater than the sum of their parts, connecting diverse individuals, and creating a cohesive group focused on our mission.

Provide input on the collective voice of the company on the executive team. Formally and informally solicit cultural input from across the organization.

Bring to life workplace-as-an-experience, ensuring team wellness through purposeful work, personal growth, job satisfaction, pay, benefits, recognition, community, facilities, events, team activities, and more.

Continually re-think workplace experience by embracing human-centered design principles.

Assist in designing an office environment to inspire and improve employee community and productivity.


5+ years of experience in talent focused roles within high-growth environments known for having strong culture, exceptional employment brands, and top talent.

Experience building teams in high-volume / fast-paced environments, closing complex positions, negotiating compensation, and building an innovative and sustainable talent acquisition strategy.

Ability to engage at the executive level of the organization interfacing with key leaders across and up the chain to formulate plans and influence talent strategies.

Experience working at a company with 150-500 employees across offices; however, despite our size, it’s critical to know the challenges facing Douctech today and to recognize that we are in many respects still a startup.

Experience with the variety of daily issues including: worker’s compensation, independent contractors, overtime, meal and rest periods, unemployment insurance, discrimination (per state and federal), pregnancy, disability (ADA), age, gender, diversity, family and medical leave (state and federal), data security and infosec training, sexual harassment training, and EEOC reporting.

Assessment and integration of acquisitions.

Proven ability to stay abreast of market and competitive trends.

Demonstrated ability to coach, empower, and develop talent.

Ability to travel to other offices and attend after hours networking events, seminars, and career fairs.

Education:  BA degree with an academic background in the principals of business and organizational behavior.
