Unlocking the Potential of the Veteran

and Military Spouse Workforce


In November we celebrate our Veterans. Please join us for a presentation on hiring Veteran and Military Spouses. In addition to the objectives below, learn about free training for HR and Recruiting professionals provided by SHRM and other veteran hiring and training programs for employers.

Objectives:

  • Understanding the Employment-Related Challenges and Barriers Military Community Members Face
  • Trends in Veteran and Military Spouse Employment
  • Why Focus on Military-Connected Employees? The Business Case for Hiring Military Veterans and Military Spouses
  • Best Practices for Sustaining Military Hiring Programs through the Employee Lifecycle

Our November presenter is Stephanie Cecil, SHRM-SCP.  Stephanie was born and raised in Idaho Falls, ID. She joined the army after graduating from Idaho Falls High School and served for 5.5 years as a truck mechanic and then in HR.  She received her BS in Business Administration with a minor in Human Resource Management from the University of Maryland and her MA in Public Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso. She has worked for both public, private and nonprofit organizations. She has over 15 years of HR experience and is the Director of Human Resources for CRI Advantage, Inc. Currently she is serving as past president for the Southeast Idaho Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and as the Director-Elect for the Idaho State Council of SHRM. Stephanie also volunteers as a USAA/SHRM Foundation Veteran Ambassador.
