Veteran's Day Focus: Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve
Cindy Reese will present about how we can best support our team members in the Guard and Reserve.
Before Cindy Reese joined the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve nearly 25 years ago, she participated in her first-ever employer outreach function, called a Bosslift, where she flew in a C130 to Fort Knox, Kentucky where she spent several days getting to know the Soldiers while living like one herself exploring tanks, eating in military dining facilities and shooting M16 rifles before returning to Idaho.
Upon her return, she decided she wanted to help make a difference and be part of something bigger than herself by joining the ESGR.
During her years of service, she served on the local committee and went on to serve as an Area Chairman, overseeing the activities and events in SE Idaho. She went on to serve as the first female State Chairman in the 52-year history of the Idaho ESGR. She served two- three terms that oversaw the activities, events, and volunteers statewide.
Besides volunteering at the local level, she served as Chairman of the National Volunteer Support Subcommittee, which assists in the management, improvement and execution of ESGR volunteers, information technology and training programs.
For her service with the ESGR, Reese has received numerous awards including the Artillery Order of Molly Pitcher, the Seven Seals Award and the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
In July 2019, she volunteered to chair a committee that helped bring a replica of Washington D.C.’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall to Blackfoot, Idaho in 2021, where thousands of visitors attended.
Cindy works full time as the Business Development Manager for Tadd Jenkins Auto Group.
She is married to her husband Scott, who also volunteers for the ESGR and served as Idaho ESGR’s State Chairman for six years as well.
They have two grown children, seven grandchildren and one great grandson.
They enjoy traveling, riding their side by side and their horses. They also have three 4H steers that have become pets and they enjoy their one year old German Short Hair puppy.
