Join us on Thursday, April 16th for
Social Media, Free Speech, and Employer Liability
with presenter Mark Tolman
We’re excited to announce that Mark Tolman will be joining us as our presenter this month! Mark, an attorney with Parsons, Behle, & Latimer has been a very popular presenter for us in the past. He will be leading a session on Social Media, Free Speech, and Employer Liability as an expert in employment law.
Balancing employee free speech rights with employers’ rights (and needs) to manage their workplaces is becoming increasingly complex. Add in a social media environment that allows employees to express their various beliefs far and wide, and the result is a legal minefield for employers. Mark will help you understand employer and employee rights (in both public and private sectors), identity potential legal risks and ensure your policies are clear, compliant and enforceable.
Mark is a management-side employment attorney and Chairperson of the Employment Department at Parsons Behle & Latimer (note – Behle is pronounced like Bailey). Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Parsons is a regional law firm with offices in Idaho, Utah, Nevada, and Wyoming. Mark is a past recipient of the Utah State Bar’s annual recognitions for Employment Lawyer of the Year and Mentor of the Year, and is admitted to practice law in Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming. Mark volunteers as the Legal Affairs Director for Salt Lake SHRM and the Utah SHRM Council.
We look forward to seeing you there for an insightful and engaging session!
